The Natural Science of Neurapractic™

Experience a new way of living through Neurapractic - the way our Creator intended.

It's a way to SHIFT awareness, dissolve stress and restore human potential.

Introduction to Neurapractic™

The Natural Science of Neurapractic™

Unifying Mind, Body, and Spirit

“All strength, all healing of every nature, is the changing of the vibrations from within – the attuning of the Divine within the living tissues of the body, to the Creative Energies. This alone is healing; it is the attuning of the atomic Structure of the living cellular force to its spiritual nature.” – Edgar Cayce

Experience a New Way of Living

Many people move through life without fully expressing who they are or what they are capable of. This can affect personal growth, performance, and the ability to experience joy and meaning in everyday life.

If this sounds familiar, you may sense that something is missing without being able to identify it. You are not alone. A reduced capacity to receive and express Life fully may be an overlooked factor in many human struggles.

Neurapractic offers a distinct approach to this concern—one that has been explored and experienced by many people over time.

We encourage you to study the ideas in this booklet. They present an engaging perspective on healing, wellness, and a healthy way of life.

As you apply this information, it may help you express more of your potential and experience greater joy in life. The better you understand the purpose behind the process, the more actively you can participate in it and recognize the changes you experience.

We are pleased to share this life-enhancing philosophy and the process used to put it into practice. As you continue, we hope you experience meaningful and positive results.

What Is Neurapractic?

Neurapractic is an applied philosophy, art, and science concerned primarily with enhancing Life and Life energy, and secondarily with how human beings respond to stress.

Neurapractic uses a unique hands-on process, also called The SHIFT Method, that involves several precise movements of the head. The process is intended to support coordination between the brain’s hemispheres, balance within the nervous system and muscles, and the release of stress held in the body and mind. In a more balanced state, a person may function more effectively on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. This alignment is intended to create conditions that support the mind and body’s natural healing capacity and allow the spirit to be more fully expressed.

Neurapractic embraces a faith-based philosophy that considers the relationships among stress, well-being, human potential, inner peace, and concepts explored in quantum physics. We believe in a Supreme Intelligence—God—who created the world and whose Intelligence is expressed as both the originating cause and the wisdom present throughout creation. In this view, His Supreme Intelligence is responsible for the origin, growth, and proper function of all living things.

We believe His Supreme Intelligence is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. In human beings, this Intelligence enables Life energy to reach the tissues and systems that depend upon its full expression for normal activity. When that energy is disrupted—often through prolonged negative responses to stress—the body and mind may experience internal discord expressed as physical challenges, mental strain, emotional instability, or spiritual dullness. Persistent stress may shift the brain into a survival response and keep the body in a state similar to “emergency standby” (see “How Does Stress Affect Us?”). This state may interfere with clear thinking, healthy metabolism, rest, and the body’s natural repair processes.

Neurapractic recognizes Life energy as a priceless gift. Stress can diminish our available energy, while moving out of an inappropriate stress response may make more of that energy available for living, functioning, and expressing who our Creator intended us to be. A calmer, more balanced state can support well-being, inner peace, and the body’s natural capacity for self-regulation and healing.

Neurapractic is intended to help us achieve and maintain a calmer, more balanced body and mind, aligned with the Creative Intelligence within us and the Universal Wisdom beyond us.

Neurapractic procedures are designed to help us move toward our full potential. The longer we maintain balance, the better equipped we may be to meet challenges and solve the problems that arise. Neurapractic is intended not only to help us navigate a stressful society, but also to support a more abundant and meaningful life—and the fulfillment of our purpose.

Neurapractic as a Philosophy

Neurapractic presents a practical, faith-based way of understanding our physical and spiritual nature. Its philosophy considers our place within creation and how we may more fully express the potential within us. Greater understanding can broaden our choices and help release limiting beliefs and fears.

Neurapractic as an Art

As an art, Neurapractic involves recognizing when imbalance is present and helping the individual restore balance through the Neurapractic process.

Neurapractic as a Science

Observation, Measurement, and Confirmation

Neurapractic seeks to support the individual’s natural capacity for self-healing through its alignment process, The SHIFT Method, which is applied consistently to each participant. Within the Neurapractic model, alignment is intended to improve coordination between the left and right hemispheres of the brain, support mind-body balance, reduce tension, and improve functional strength. Experiences and results vary because every participant is unique.

Early observations of The SHIFT Method included the use of Kirlian photography, which creates images associated with electrical discharge around an object. Practitioners compared images taken before and after an alignment and reported changes they interpreted as improved energy flow. Areas that initially appeared weak, dull, or absent were described as showing stronger emanations after alignment.

Electroencephalograms (EEGs), which record the brain’s electrical activity, have also been used to observe changes associated with the balancing technique. Practitioners have reported a rapid shift toward awake alpha-wave activity following The SHIFT Method. Alpha activity is commonly associated with relaxed wakefulness. Within the Neurapractic framework, this state is considered supportive of greater integration and well-being.

The Neurapractic Alignment Process: The SHIFT Method

The SHIFT Method is performed while you lie comfortably on your back, with your head positioned at the raised end of the Neurapractic table. Standing behind you, the Neurapractor applies several precise movements to your head. The process takes less than thirty seconds and is generally experienced as gentle and pleasant. It has even been used with very young children.

In general, the more strongly your body responds to the balancing process, the more likely you may be to notice sensations—often in an area where you have been holding tension or stress.

Most people experience little or no discomfort. Because each person is unique, the degree of energetic, physical, emotional, or mental release may also be different for each individual.

Neurapractic can be compared to rebooting a computer. The process provides a sensory signal to the brain and interrupts an established stress pattern. Within the Neurapractic model, this helps coordinate the right and left hemispheres and supports integration among levels of brain function. As the mind and brain recognize that no immediate danger is present, the body can begin moving out of “emergency standby.” The body may then return toward a more balanced state, freeing energy for sensory awareness, metabolism, clearer thinking, healing, and a greater sense of well-being.

How Did I Become Unbalanced?

Ideally, a person’s life would resemble a candle that burns brightly for many years, then flickers only briefly before going out at life’s natural end. For many people, however, the journey unfolds more like the following story.

At the beginning of life, your first breath opened a world filled with wonder. You explored, learned, and made new discoveries. When you wobbled and fell, you got back up. When you needed to cry or express emotion, you did—and that was natural. You were balanced and expressed Life freely.

Then something changed—perhaps only a subtle shift in perception as you encountered new experiences. You felt it first in your mind and then in your body. A fall that once would not have stopped you now brought tension, hesitation, or pain. The world no longer seemed as joyful or loving. Friends hurt you. Authority figures disappointed or misdirected you. What once felt welcoming began to feel indifferent or unsafe.

Over time, hurt may have settled into the body along with tightness, sadness, illness, or mental distress. Your self-expression became less free than it had been in childhood. Instead of drawing from the many possibilities you once sensed, you may have narrowed your choices and repeated familiar habits day after day. A groove became a rut, and the rut grew deeper. Little by little, Life felt less fully expressed.

It is often said that people move away from pain more quickly than they move toward pleasure. As the years passed, you may have found that Life’s pains seemed more numerous than its pleasures, and what once felt exciting gradually became routine.

Simple joys became harder to feel. Still, you persevered and hoped circumstances would improve. Stress accumulated; the body grew weary and the mind tired. The spirit had less room for expression. Chemical and electromagnetic exposures, financial concerns, job pressures, poor nutrition, negative self-talk, relationship difficulties, conflict, substance use, and loss all added to the burden. Life may have seemed to deteriorate before your eyes.

Every experience was processed through your body and mind. Some had little lasting effect; others affected you deeply. In trying to cope with chronic stress, you may have shifted from being centered within yourself to reacting continually to the world around you. Stress patterns were held in the body, and you moved away from your center and into imbalance.

How Does Stress Affect Us?

Stress has become part of everyday language. It can be a positive catalyst for growth, but it can also overwhelm a person and diminish the quality of life. Many stressful events once had a clear beginning and end, allowing the body and mind to respond and then return to balance. Today, people often face ongoing pressures without a clear point of resolution. When the stress response remains active, the body and mind may have difficulty returning to a balanced baseline.

Understanding the body’s response to stress can help explain the Neurapractic approach to releasing stress and restoring balance. Imagine a cave woman confronted by a dangerous animal. Her innate wisdom would activate the instinctive fight-or-flight response to support survival. Adrenaline would rise, heart rate would increase, and energy would be redirected away from functions that were not immediately essential, such as digestion and repair. The brain would rapidly organize attention and action around the threat. Depending on her tendencies and the situation, she might calculate how to defend herself, run for safety, or become momentarily immobilized.

Within the Neurapractic model, a stress response can create asymmetrical patterns of muscular tension and strength associated with hemispheric dominance. A person who responds primarily through analytical, linear processing may show a different muscular pattern from someone who responds primarily through emotional or spatial processing. Once the danger has passed, the body and mind are meant to return toward balance, with tension easing and coordinated function restored.

Even within the past century, daily life often followed more natural rhythms. Many people rose with the sun and rested when the day’s work was done. Although hardship was certainly present, modern technological and environmental pressures had not yet reached today’s intensity or constancy.

Technology has advanced rapidly, and many people now live at an exhausting pace. Stressors are constant, layered, and difficult to resolve. The familiar response is often described as fight, flight, or freeze. At work, for example, neither fighting with a supervisor nor running away may be realistic. Instead, we may suppress the energy and emotion connected with stress and remain frozen in an inappropriate response. When this happens repeatedly, the body may stay in “emergency standby” rather than reestablishing the balance needed for well-being. Within the Neurapractic model, this may appear as uneven muscular tension or functional strength, postural asymmetry, or an apparent difference in leg length. A person may also feel mentally or emotionally stuck, while the spirit feels restricted and unable to express itself fully.

How Can Your Neurapractor Help?

My goal as your Neurapractor is to help you return to a more balanced state through The SHIFT Method. I also want to help you understand the principles and potential benefits of Neurapractic so that you can participate actively and become increasingly self-reliant in caring for your well-being. As your Life becomes more fully expressed, others may notice the difference and feel encouraged to pursue fuller, more satisfying lives of their own. The Neurapractor’s purpose is to educate and empower many people—not to keep a few people dependent upon repeated “treatment.”

In a balanced state, you are better able to take responsibility for your life and to receive and express Life and Life energy more fully. Neurapractic does not diagnose disease or treat specific symptoms. Instead, The SHIFT Method is intended to address stress-related imbalance and support the body’s return toward balance. From that state, you may be better able to listen to your God-given wisdom and recognize the lifestyle choices, professional care, or other changes needed to support health and wellness.

The Neurapractic state of balance is intended to support greater equilibrium and harmony in the body. As the effects of stress ease, tension may decrease, functional strength and movement may improve, the senses may feel clearer, and thinking, metabolism, and healing may be better supported. The desired result is simple:

Life works better on every level when we are in balance.

Neurapractic Is Not a Treatment

The purpose of a Neurapractic alignment is not to diagnose or treat aches, pains, disease, or other medical conditions. It is not intended to replace the care provided by chiropractors, medical doctors, naturopathic physicians, or other qualified health professionals. Neurapractic does not claim to treat, heal, or cure any person or condition. Because the alignment is administered through gentle physical contact—and because some people notice changes quickly—it can easily be mistaken for a form of therapy. It is not.

Neurapractic teaches that the body and mind have remarkable natural capacities for self-regulation, adaptation, repair, and healing. The Inner Wisdom that guides these processes works according to the body's priorities. When those priorities are supported—and a person is brought into closer alignment with Universal Principles, or an Alignment with Life—the body's systems may function with greater balance and harmony.

A Neurapractic alignment is intended to support a calm, receptive state often associated with alpha brain-wave activity. In this more relaxed and centered state, a person may find it easier to recognize new possibilities, respond to stress more constructively, and draw upon qualities such as clear thinking, insight, and creativity.

Neurapractic focuses on underlying stress-related patterns and the restoration of balance rather than on diagnosing disease or treating individual symptoms. People often make meaningful changes in their lives while participating in Neurapractic; however, Neurapractors make no medical claims. Neurapractic is part of a faith-centered approach to life that encourages healthy, life-affirming choices. As individuals become more balanced, they may be better able to recognize and choose what supports their well-being.

Why Treating Symptoms Alone May Not Resolve the Cause

Being out of balance can be compared to having a string tied too tightly around your finger.

You may try to relieve the discomfort in many ways: rubbing the finger, exercising it, eating well, thinking positively, meditating, taking medication, or getting more rest.

Some of these measures may ease the symptoms, but the underlying problem remains until the string is loosened or removed.

In the same way, Neurapractic seeks to address stress-related imbalance rather than simply chasing symptoms. As balance is restored, the body and mind may be better able to use their own God-given capacities for regulation, repair, and healing. Individual experiences and results will vary.

The Relationship Between Stress and Illness

Neurapractic places strong emphasis on stress as a contributing factor in illness and diminished well-being. Stress may be psychological, physical, chemical, environmental, or spiritual. Serious or degenerative illness usually develops through a complex process rather than appearing without preceding changes.

Chronic stress can alter immune, hormonal, cardiovascular, digestive, and other physiological functions. When demands repeatedly exceed a person’s capacity to adapt and recover, the risk of dysfunction and breakdown may increase.

People are born with different genetic tendencies and vulnerabilities. These predispositions, together with past injury, lifestyle, environment, and patterns of neurological or structural imbalance, can influence which organs or systems are most affected under prolonged stress.

Persistent stress can place a heavy burden on organs and body systems. Cardiovascular and gastrointestinal conditions are among those commonly associated with stress, and chronic stress can also affect immune function. Life-negating or self-destructive habits in adolescents and adults may sometimes reflect unresolved stress and a prolonged state of imbalance.

Within the Neurapractic approach, helping a person move out of an inappropriate stress state before further breakdown is an important goal. Neurapractic alignments may be used alongside supportive lifestyle practices such as nutritious food, regular movement, adequate rest, and appropriate professional care.
